Light is one of the most persistent and significant variables in a person’s life.  The intimate understanding of this technology is our passion and focus. This knowledge includes in-depth studies of wavelengths their effects, interfaces and controls.

Nemalux was created by innovative thinking as we’ve anticipated  the lighting paradigm shift of LEDs. We have developed a full line of LED products which continue to lead the industry with their technology and their design.

Nemalux has developed energy efficient, robust, waterproof and hazardous location approved luminaires. These products are designed to provide lighting for areas where water, vibration, maintenance or temperature negatively affects conventional illumination. We’ve combined the long-life and reliability advantages of Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) with the brightness of conventional lighting.

Nemalux fixtures were originally developed for lighting in industrial locations. Its brand was developed to fill a market niche for low profile, hazardous location lighting where florescent and incandescent lights could not compete.  Nemalux has built its name on durable, high quality and safe LED luminaires.

History

In 2003, the founders of Nemalux turned their vision into a business with a $15,000 line of credit and a handshake.  The company began with a single vision – combine our passion for physics and innovation to create unique products that improve the quality of the environment we live and work in. Founded in Calgary, Alberta, Nemalux has built its reputation on high quality products; value added engineering and dependable service.

Turning a vision into a business was no simple matter. Curiosity was the spark for innovation. Nemalux built its groundbreaking business with a team of highly skilled individuals, a focus on smart products and the determination to provide dynamic solutions to our customers.

We have developed a full line of industrial and hazardous location LED products based on leading edge technology. Our natural curiosity and team of highly skilled people continuously adapt new technology to the products and solutions we provide our customers.

Being ahead of our time is no easy matter. It requires the ability to recognize the impact of new technologies and how to deliver it to the market place.

Our original business plan targeted the market of industrial explosion proof luminaries.  However, our background in automation, industrial and physics enabled Nemalux to successfully offer customized engineering solutions and services.

Nemalux has adapted its business model over the years to include high performance external contractors as required for larger scale projects. This has allowed Nemalux to react quickly to the market needs and maintain the ability to deliver small or large projects with equal efficiency.

Our most valuable assets are people. The Nemalux core team is made up of individuals who have been with the company since its inception. They have nurtured and directed Nemalux to where it is today.  Our project managers are talented craftspeople with expertise that span various disciplines.

Corporate Governance

Nemalux remains compliant with as many auditing processes and external testing laboratories as possible while maintaining our efficiency.

Formal relationships include:

• • Intertek and CSA including onsite shop inspections.
• • Nemalux works closely with ENFORM (industrial safety) and IES (Illuminating Engineering Society).
• • The Nemalux team includes in house Chartered Accountants and Professional Engineers who rigidly support the high Nemalux ethical and moral standard.
• • Manufacturing Procedures adhere to ISO9000-2008 standards.
